HiPerSeal®, also known as a PTFE spring seal, spring energized seal, or Teflon spring seal, is a U-shaped machined performance polymer that utilizes a single spring energizer to provide force to the sealing lips. The seal jacket is made from PTFE compounds, using high-performance polymer fillers to enhance the overall PTFE spring seal life and wear resistance. As system pressure increases, the sealing force is enhanced, creating a reliable, leak-tight seal.
Because this PTFE spring seal design incorporates a spring, it allows for slight misalignment while maintaining consistent sealing force and uniform jacket wear. Spring energizers are available in corrosion-resistant metal alloys such as stainless steel, Elgiloy, and Hastelloy, making them suitable for highly corrosive and high-temperature applications.
We offer a wide variety of spring energizers, including Canted Coil springs, Helical springs, and Cantilever springs. For more details, please refer to the "Spring" section under "Products".
The standard PTFE spring seal product line is precision-machined to fit AS 568A glands in radial rod and piston grooves, as well as axial face seal configurations. It is suitable for static, rotary, and reciprocating applications—even under extreme and harsh conditions. These spring-loaded seals can operate from static and low speeds up to 20 m/s (4000 fpm); withstand pressures from vacuum to 700 kg/cm² (10,000 psi); and handle temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 300°C (575°F).
Ideal for chemically aggressive environments, this PTFE spring seal solution is especially effective for hydraulic components requiring low friction, high lateral load tolerance, and resistance to corrosive or steam-rich environments—all while providing consistent sealing performance.
HiPerSeal® can also be fully customized to meet your specific operational needs upon request.
Advantages of HiPerSeal®:
• Manufactured using dedicated CNC machines—no tooling cost, ideal for small-volume or diverse custom PTFE spring seal orders.
• Versatile sealing performance through various spring and seal profile combinations.
• Compact design fits into standard O-ring grooves according to AS568A specifications.
• Can be sterilized in autoclaves or with any sterilizing agents.
